Turn notes into action steps
Don't let good ideas go to waste ...
You diligently take notes during meetings, interviews, presentations, and so on.
But sometimes notes are so fragmentary that looking at them just a few days later does little good. To avoid this situation, take an intermediate step. Right after the meeting, turn your fragmentary notes into a brief memo focused on actions to take. “Ann Johnson, leadership” becomes “Call Ann Johnson about leadership training.” “#6, meeting” becomes “See speaker’s slide 6 for ideas about improving meetings.” Your next steps are clear.
