Assess unproductive workers’ use of time
Find out the cause of a lack of productivity.
When workers seem overwhelmed and unable to achieve their objectives, the culprit could be poor time management—or an overloaded schedule. To discover which, ask employees to keep a time log, noting their activities in half-hour intervals. If the log indicates that they really do have more than they can handle, work together to redistribute some assignments. If not, then coach them to make better use of their time.
